17-year-old Dripsey native James Power, Ireland’s youngest professional boxer (elite Irish boxers tend to go the amateur/Olympic route before going pro), landed into Cork airport at 3am on Monday morning before going to school at Coachford College in Cork at 8am to undertake his Irish Leaving Cert oral exam.
On Sunday he had fought in Hungary, extending his pro fight record to 4-0, adding another stoppage victory over a local opponent — his fourth in as many pro fights.
He has been interviewed by RTÉ and his story will be told on RTÉ News this evening at around 6:45pm. Go n-éirí an bóthar leis! #CorcaighAbú
